Before you order aerial photo or video, you should ask the drone pilot three questions:
Do you have a drone certificate and full liability insurance?
Does your drone camera take razor-sharp pictures?
Are you able to tell a story with drone footage?
Because in principle, almost anyone can shoot video and photos with a drone. But without a photographer’s eye, you might as well pull images from Google Maps.
Have a look at how we used drone video to tell the story of Øynebråten anleggsteknikk, who were securing the railway after the enormous rainfall from storm Hans.
About the drone pilot
Anders Medhus started with aerial photography long before everyone had an uncle with a drone. As early as the 2000s he flew RC helicopters, to the great frustration of the people he shared a house with. Today the controls sit in his spine – but flying is only half the job for a drone pilot.
As a drone pilot, Anders combines technical experience with photographic principles. He is able to think as both pilot and photographer in the air, which makes the footage what we call cinematic: it tells a story.
Your drone footage suddenly went from Google Maps to something you could pin to a cinema screen.
Certified and insured
Hallingcast’s drone operator holds an operator certificate under EU regulations and full liability insurance. That means you can order aerial photography for your project without worrying about applications, zones and regulations. That is our job.
